Who is Jennifer?

Name: Jennifer Williams

Personal

Hobbies: Painting, photography, reading, writing, hiking on easy trails, attending cultural arts festivals, going to historic sites and museums.

What I want to do more of:  travel, volunteer, engage with my community, spend meaningful time with  my children.

Issues I care deeply about:  Disability rights, reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ equity, racial justice, climate change, public health, expanding welfare services to those in need

I am a plethora of contradictions and enthusiasm wrapped into a fun-sized mom package. I am passionate about accessibility, equity, social justice, and inclusion. I believe in work life balance. I love my family, friends, pets, and this world fiercely. I call a historic house that needs some work home because I don't believe in throwing things away when they can be fixed and made better.  I live somewhere in the sultry south with air as thick as honey and ghosts in the trees.

Professional

So why did I share all of my personal info first?  Simple.  You need to know who I am to know if I will fit into your organizational culture.  Now you've got a little glimpse into who I am.

I am a seasoned Health Communications SME with over a decade of diverse experience in content writing, content creation, editing, program design, community engagement, and publishing.  I've done everything from curate award winning museum exhibits to make slide decks on monkeypox. I like to say I've worn a lot of hats over the years and I look good in all of them!

I excel at researching complex topics and utilizing plain language to engage and inform both internal stakeholders and outward facing clients.  I am a whisperer of the difficult, and a storyteller of the "hard."
